We're Baaaaaaaaaaaack!

5 years later, we are back in Malaysia. This time, things are different: No kids in diapers, I am not pregnant, Bubba and YaYa live in a different condo, and we brought our friend Tiffany along for an adventure. Some things are the same: Traffic is still crazy, there are even more malls now than there were 5 years ago, and we continue to be amazed by the sights of the city. After a crazy couple weeks of finishing up the first term of my program, getting through finals for the class I taught, and packing for the family, it felt great to finally be at the airport. Our flight left at 1 am and the kids were so excited to get on the plane but fell asleep during take-off (thank goodness). The first leg was Seattle to Taiwan, and went pretty smoothly.
Here we are in Seattle, anxiously awaiting our departure. We arrived in Taiwan after a 13 hour flight, and had about a 3.5 hour layover. Luckily, EVA Air has a Hello Kitty gate with lots of entertainment for the kids, so we hung out there to get the wiggles out.
Although it was 7am in Taiwan it felt like a good time for beers and noodle soup. And lemons if you are under 4.
The Taipei airport has lots of fun sitting areas and entertainment. And Tiffany brought lots of trail mix to share - well, someone was just interested in the M&M's...
The leg from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur is another 4.5 hours (which feels like an eternity), and when we got through customs in KL, Toi met us at the airport and we rode the train to KL, and took a taxi to their condo in Mont Kiara. It is a great place, within walking distance to everything you would need, and a playground, pool, and sports courts right on the property. We made sure to get some pool time on Day 1.
There are some pretty cool cars in the condo's parking garage.
And beautiful grounds.
That night we ventured out to dinner, which turned out to be not the best idea. This is what jet lag looks like:
We swam more on Day 2 and got groceries to make dinner. The fish counter is a little different than home.
The kids spotted this at the grocery store and somehow recognized the Bananas in Pajamas??
And of course, there was more swimming on Day 2. Tiffany is great kid entertainment.
Tilly learned to Cannonball!
The blow-up raft was tons of fun for Levi and Tilly. Note the cute kid in the background floating on a piece of styrofoam. He had just as much fun :)
Tomorrow we leave for Krabi, Thailand and are looking forward to some beach time.
